Straight Life Tabernacle Church of God in Christ was started with God’s guidance on November 9, 1992 in the home of former Pastor Mother Louise Watts and the late Deacon Willie Watts. One year later, on November 3, 1993, God blessed us with our current building at 2924 Warren Road, Decatur, GA 30034. Renovations on the facility began immediately and consisted of painting, new carpet installation, and other cosmetic touches.

 

After serving diligently and faithfully for 10 years, God lead Pastor Louise Watts to call then Minister James Watts, Pastor.  In passing the torch to Minister Watts, Pastor Louise Watts became Mother Watts. Pastor James Watts was officially ordained Senior Pastor and Overseer of the Straight Life Tabernacle Church of God in Christ on September 15, 2002.

 

Pastor Watts’ radical vision for “the Tabernacle” lead to extensive facility renovations in 2009, including raising and relocation of the pulpit; all new AV equipment; addition of a Sunday School, finance, and Conference rooms; updating the bathrooms; total removal of the kitchen; enlarging the Pastors study, and repaving of the parking lot. Pastor Watts was ordained Bishop on May 31, 2015.

 

God is truly blessing this ministry. We have reached our 30 year mark, and with God’s continued guidance and blessings we will reach 30 more.
